Product Description
The Aprilaire 500 humidifier offers effective humidification for tightly constructed homes of up to 3,000 square feet. The Aprilaire 500 Humidifier is the best bypass humidifier for small to mid-sized homes.
The Aprilaire 500 model features the new #60 updated digital, automatic humidity control and includes a built-in bypass damper and a drain to flush minerals from the unit. The bypass damper is conveniently labeled for winter and summer settings. The digital humidistat automatically adjusts the humidity level as the outside temperature changes.
This humidifier comes complete with the new Aprilaire digital humidity control, one Aprilaire water panel, outdoor temperature sensor, saddle valve, 24V transformer and installation instructions from Aprilaire!

This convenient kit gives you all the parts you need to maintain your Aprilaire 500 humidifier each year and keep it running in like-new factory condition. Only use genuine Aprilaire water panels when performing annual maintenance for your unit.
To change the water panel within your Aprilaire 500 humidifier, follow the instructions below. It is recommended that you change the water panel annually for best performance.
- Power off the unit and disconnect the power supply
- Shut off water supply.
- Turn the bypass damper to the "˜SUMMER' position.
- Remove the unit cover.
- Pull out the plastic feed tube from the distribution tray.
- Unsnap the distribution tray from the scale control insert.
- Lightly brush off any mineral deposits from the scale control insert and soak the tray in a vinegar solution.
- Remove the old water panel from the scale control insert and dispose.
- Insert a new Aprilaire water panel and reassemble the distribution tray.
- Reinstall the water panel assembly into the unit.
- Reinsert the feed tube.
- Replace unit cover.
- Turn on water supply.
- Reset bypass damper to appropriate position.
- Power on the system.
