This convenient kit gives you all the parts you need to maintain your Aprilaire 500 humidifier each year and keep it running in like-new factory condition. Only use genuine Aprilaire water panels when performing annual maintenance for your unit.

To change the water panel within your Aprilaire 500 humidifier, follow the instructions below. It is recommended that you change the water panel annually for best performance.

1. Power off the unit and disconnect the power supply
2. Shut off water supply.
3. Turn the bypass damper to the "˜SUMMER' position.
4. Remove the unit cover.
5. Pull out the plastic feed tube from the distribution tray.
6. Unsnap the distribution tray from the scale control insert.
7. Lightly brush off any mineral deposits from the scale control insert and soak the tray in a vinegar solution.
8. Remove the old water panel from the scale control insert and dispose.
9. Insert a new Aprilaire water panel and reassemble the distribution tray.
10. Reinstall the water panel assembly into the unit.
11. Reinsert the feed tube.
12. Replace unit cover.
13. Turn on water supply.
14. Reset bypass damper to appropriate position.
15. Power on the system.
